Shot Session Overview
Valid Shot

A motion is classified as a Valid Shot only when it matches the recoil signature the algorithm expects: a sharp acceleration impulse followed by a decay curve, sustained for the minimum duration and within the sensitivity window you’ve set. Movements that don’t fit this pattern — adjusting your stance, reloading, casual gestures — are filtered out automatically, so your session data reflects real shots only.
Handling

Handling covers atypical movements or events. A HANDLING MOVEMENT is registered when you release the barrel, load ammunition, twist your wrist, etc. A failed shot can also be recorded as “HANDLING”.
Shot Graph Explained

TRIGGER: AKA Stability – is the main score of your shot — a number from 0 to 100 that measures how steady your grip was in the moments just before you pulled the trigger.
IGNITION: describes how physically forceful the shot event was — based on the peak acceleration, rotation, and recoil duration captured by the sensor.
RECOVERY: Recovery measures how long it took your hand and wrist to stop moving after the shot — expressed in milliseconds (ms).
BARREL DEVIATION: Barrel Deviation shows the direction your barrel was pointing just before the shot — expressed as two values: LAT (lateral) and LONG (longitudinal).
This is not where the bullet hit — it is where your muzzle was aimed in the fraction of a second before ignition. It reveals systematic tendencies in your shooting posture and trigger pull.
LAT – Lateral Deviation. Measures left-right barrel drift. Values close to 0 indicate the barrel was centered.
LONG – Longitudinal Deviation – up-down barrel drift.

Shot Analysis turns the raw sensor curves in a graph trend..
Shot Report

At the end of a session, HoldNGrip compiles every shot into a Shot Report — a card-style summary showing your scores side by side, session averages, and trends across the sequence.
